Welcome to the Month of June 2017!
We would like to wish our Pre-K/K-prep students a happy graduation. Don’t forget to pack your child with sunscreen and the appropriate summer clothes.

Infant Room A:
Children will repeat experiences with the same objects and remember that unseen objects are still there. Children will also show curiosity and explore sensory materials.
Family Engagement: Sending home a flag to do a nationality decoration.

Infant Room B:
Children will learn a sense of self, family and community. Children will also learn number sense and quantity.

Infant Room C:
Children will sit without support and pull up to a standing position. Children will also work on saying “mama” and “dada”.
Family Engagement: Book bag continues.

Infant Room D:
Children will engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children. Children will gain an appreciation for art.
Family Engagement: Book bags- Families will read books and tell us how they picked the child’s name.
Classroom Special Events: Father’s Day project.
Crawler Room A and B:
Children will develop self-help skills by using child-safe spoons and forks at meal time. Children will also gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts by working on art projects.
Family Engagement: Please bring in Daddy and Me photos.
Classroom Special Events: Children will work on Father’s Day gifts.
Younger Toddlers A Room:
Children learn to plan for and carry out investigations through putting water with food coloring and oil in a water bottle and watching what happens. Children will also develop number recognition and counting skills through charting a sour and sweet taste test.
Family Engagement: Father’s Day
Classroom Special Events: We are going to do sweet and sour taste test with different foods.

Younger Toddler B Room:
Children will explore cause and effect relationships when putting fruits and vegetables into bags and pounding to see what happens. Children will also make spontaneous dots, lines and wobbly circles when painting with the fruits and vegetables that they squeezed and pounded together.
Family Engagement: “Daddy and Me” hand print- Have dad’s trace or paint their handprint on paper and put child’s handprint inside to hang in the classroom.
Classroom Special Events: Building with dad! At pickup build a house with dad out of cardboard.

Older Toddlers Room:
Children will show interest in and have an understanding of a variety of literacy experiences. Children will also develop an awareness of themselves as an individual.

Three’s Room:
Children will read books on strangers to help recognize unsafe situations and tell an adult and alert an adult when another child is in danger. Children will write in their journals about the caterpillar process and make increasingly complex observations about objects and events in their environment noticing patterns in events.
Family Engagement: Father’s Day gold activity tbd

Pre-K Classroom:
Children learn to order and sort objects by common attributes to identify patterns and to predict the next sequence in the pattern. Children will also engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children.
Family Engagement: Bring in a picture of you and your father/grandfather for Father’s Day to share with the class at circle time.
Classroom Special Events: Graduation June 21st @ 1 and an end of the year party!
K-Prep Classroom:
Children apply strategies and draw upon past knowledge and experiences to meet goals and solve problems. Children will also learn to plan for and carry out investigations and to collect, evaluate and communicate investigations.
Family Engagement: Proud parent board is up. We encourage parents to write what they are most proud of with their child’s learning this year.
