Welcome to all of our new families!  We would like to invite you to “like us on Facebook” so you can see any special events going on and any activities that the children participate in throughout the day!  We will be having an Open House in the fall so please keep your eyes open for the date and time!

Infants–

This month we will work on our Language Development.  We will demonstrate recognition of names of familiar people, and favorite objects.  We will also experiment with making new sounds and babbling.

 

Family Engagement– This month our classroom theme is “BIG RED BARN”.  Practice naming farm animals and imitating the sounds they make with your child.

 

Special Events– We will have a guest reader this month!

 

Crawlers–

This month we will focus on social and emotional development.  The children will work on engaging in positive relationships and interactions with other children.  We will also continue to work on language development as the children work on noticing and discriminating the sounds of spoken language.

 

Family Engagement– Tuesday, September 11th we will be having a “welcome to our class” breakfast!  Please look for a sign-up sheet on our refrigerator.

Young Toddlers–

This month we will focus on social and emotional development.  We will work with the children on engaging in positive relationships and interactions with other children during circle time.  We will also focus on language development as the children work on understanding appropriate social and conversational rules of the classroom.

 

Family Engagement– This month we will make family trees with the children.  Please bring in five photos of your family including pets so we can display in our classroom!

 

Special Events– We will be making apple sauce together with our friends!

Older Toddlers-

This month we will focus on social and emotional development.  The children will gain awareness of how they relate to their families and community and understand social roles and responsibilities and recognize and respect similarities and differences in people.  We will be learning about “ALL ABOUT ME”!  We will also focus on mathematics as we gain an understanding of number sense and quantity.  The children will work on number recognition and counting skills and learn the relationship between numbers and the quantity they represent.

 

Family Engagement-Please bring in some family photos including pets that we can display around our classroom!

3’s Preschool–

This month our goals will focus on social and emotional development.  The children will be able to engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children.  We will also focus on literacy as the children work on recognizing and identifying letters T, I, and L and make letter-sound connections.

 

Family Engagement– We will be sending home an “All About Me” homework sheet for our families to work on at home and then return back so we can discuss and display in our classroom!

 

 

4’s Pre-K–

This month our focus will be social and emotional development.  With the new school year beginning, there has been a lot of changes in Pre-K.  As the children explore the learning environment, they will begin to develop trust in and engage positively with their peers and teachers. During our “All About Me” unit this month, the children will develop an awareness of themselves as an individual with unique thoughts, feelings, and perspectives.

 

Family Engagement–  This month we will be learning about different types of families during our “All About Me” unit.  We will be sending home a family tree project on Tuesday, September 4th.  Please return it to school no later than Wednesday, September 12th.  The children will be sharing their family trees during circle time and they will be displayed in our housekeeping area.

K-Prep/Kindergarten–

This month we will focus on social and emotional development.  The children will develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and consistently present.  They will also work on developing the confidence to complete an action successfully or independently.

 

Family Engagement– Please help your child complete the “all about me” poster, including things that are special about him/her.  More details to come!

 

Special Events– We will be having a Grandparents Day Tea on 9/12 from 2-3!  A sign-up sheet will be posted soon!
