Welcome to the month of September and a new school year!
We would like to welcome all of our new families. Please know my door is always open for any questions or concerns.
Due to the summer program ending, we will be sending home all of the water play items such as their towels, bathing suits and water shoes. Please make sure your child always has extra clothes in their cubbies.
We will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3rd for Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend.
On Sept. 21, we will be having a dental program for the children in rooms older toddlers through Kindergarten.
To all our grandparents, Happy Grandparents Day on Sept. 9th!
Celebrating a birthday this month is Ms. Amanda in Infants on 9/13 and Ms. Tara in young toddlers on 9/21. Happy Birthday!
Infants:
This month we will be working on developing large muscle control, strength and coordination. We will also be encouraging the children to explore their environment with their hands and feet.
Family Engagement Activity: Please continue to bring in a family picture for our family tree board.
Classroom Special Events: Applesauce taste testing. More information to come. We would also like to welcome Teddy, Felicity, Isabell and Aiden to our room.
Crawlers:
This month we will be working on gaining awareness of how the children relate to their families, and recognize similarities and differences in people. We will be working on this through family pictures. We will also work on our routine and structure of the classroom which helps the children understand what time it is, for example nap time, lunch time, outside time.
Family Engagement Activity: Please send in a picture of you child with their grandmother and grandfather. Please write on the back of the picture what your child calls their grandparent. We will be using this for our bulletin board in honor of Grandparents day.
We would like to welcome Otis, Marin, Avery, Ira and Adelyn to our room.
Toddlers:
This month we will continue to encourage the children to participate in structured and unstructured physical activities. We will also encourage expressive language. We will practice this by having the children say the name, shape or color of an object while handing it to them.
Family Engagement Activity: Send in a picture of your nightly story time before bed for our quiet corner.
Celebrating a birthday this month is Mila on 9/12. Happy Birthday! We would like to welcome Mila, Hadley, Michael, Cooper, and Vivienne to our room.
Older Toddlers/Young 3s:
This month we will continue to work on physical health, motor development and fine motor development. We will be doing this through stacking blocks, puzzles, stringing beads and outdoor activities. In social and emotional development, we will be encouraging sense of self; children develop the confidence to complete and action successfully or independently, example: cleaning up toys after an activity.
Family Engagement Activity: Please bring in a picture of your family doing a fun activity together for our board.
Celebrating a birthday this month is Kevin on 9/5! Happy birthday! We would like to welcome Darcie, Connor, Olin, Olivia, Elliot, and Kevin to our room!

This month we will be working on our social and emotional development. We will be doing this by working on relationships with others to help develop trust and engage positively with adults and peers by helping problem solve and communicate experiences and ideas with others. W will also work on cognitive development where children skills will increase in filtering impulses and sustaining attention on a task. Children will begin to focus on centers, materials of interest, despite distractions as well as changes from transitioning form center to center throughout the day.
Family Engagement Activity: As we start our All About Me unit, we will send home a paper of you to work on with your child so we can learn more about them, your family and we will use it in class for discussions and display.
We would like to welcome all of our new friends and we are very excited about all of the fun and learning to be shared this month!

This month is All About Me and Family. We will be working on alphabet knowledge. Children will recognize and identify letters and make sound connections. In Phonological awareness, children notice and discriminate the sounds of spoken languages.
Family Engagement: Students with their families, will be working on a Family and Me project. Details will be sent home the 1st week of Sept.
Happy Birthday to Miles on 9/1 and Mason on 9/2. Happy Birthday!

Pre-K:
This month will be All About Me. We will work on an awareness of family and community. We will also explore the 3 different types of rocks: sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous to investigate the properties of natural elements and provide simple descriptions. We will also focus on classroom rules and routines to demonstrate an awareness of group rules and the outcomes of choices.
Family Engagement Activity: Family Tree: your child will be given a paper tree to take home. Help your child decorate the tree and paste pictures of your family on it so we can display it around the room.
We would also like to welcome all of our new friends and families to our room.
K-Prep and Kindergarten:
This month we will be working on our sense of self where the children will develop the confidence to complete and action successfully or independently. We will also be working on phonological and alphabet knowledge, where the children will be able to notice, identify and discriminate the sounds of spoken languages as well as making letter sound connections.
Family Engagement Activity: All About Me Bags! As our first getting to know you activity as we will be sending home an “All About Me” bags. Please find the items and place them in the bags to share with the class on 9/7.
Classroom Special Events: Grandparents Day brunch on 9/7 come visit our classroom while we celebrate you! Join us for a light breakfast and prepare to be serenaded. Making a friendship salad on 9/14, each person signs up to bring an item of fruit to mix into our salad!
Welcome to a new school year!
