Welcome to the month of November!
*SNCA will be closed the following days, 11/10-Veteran’s Day and 11/23 & 11/24- Thanksgiving Holiday
*On November 7th, the children will be having their individual and class pictures taken! Look for forms in your child’s cubby!
*Thank you to all who participated in our Pink Out Day! We raised $240 for the Pink Heals organization!

Infants:
This month our younger infants will be working on holding bottles during feedings. We will also be working on floor time, rolling over, and tummy time. Our older infants will be working on taking steps. We are also encouraging self feeding with spoons and forks.
Family Engagement: This month we will be sending home a snowflake for you to decorate with family pictures. Please return so we can display in our classroom!

Crawlers:
This month we will focus on health and safety practices as we work with the children on dressing and undressing themselves. We will also focus on language development as the children work on producing some words and word-like sounds.
Family Engagement: We are asking all of our families to bring in at least 3 family photos, including pets, for a project, no later than 11/9! Thank you!
Classroom Special Events: We will be pumpkin painting this month! Please bring in a small pumpkin for your child to paint in class!!

Young Toddlers:
This month we will focus on social and emotional development as the children work on developing the ability to control impulses and respond to redirection most of the time. We will also focus on physical health and motor development as we work on self-help skills and teach the children to use tissues when offered by a teacher.
Family Engagement: This month we will be sending home materials to make your own Turkey! Decorate in your own style and bring back so we can display in our classroom!

Older Toddlers:
This month we will focus on science as the children learn to plan for and carry out investigations and collect, evaluate, and communicate information. We will be exploring cooking and sensory-based activities. We will also focus on family and community as we celebrate Thanksgiving and caring for others.

3’s Preschool:
This month we will learn about all the ways we can stay healthy with sleep, nutrition, exercise and cleanliness as well as who helps us do the same. We will also work on social studies as we act out events happening daily and learn about the 1st Thanksgiving!
Family Engagement: This month we will ask each of our families to bring something to share for our “Friends-giving”! Please look for a sign-up sheet! Thank you!

4’s Pre-K:
This month the children will gain awareness of how they relate to their family and community, understand social roles and responsibilities, and recognize and respect similarities and differences in people as we focus on social and emotional skills. We will also be looking at science this month. The children will explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring.
Family Engagement: Make a collage of special family events that you have had with your family such as special days, trips, holidays, etc. Share the collage with your family at special holiday gatherings this month!
Classroom Special Events: 11/14 Audubon Society Owl Visit.
