Special Events
*6/21- Pre-K and Kindergarten Graduation- 9:30 @ The Impossible Dream Playground
6/24- Summer Transitions- Please look for postings in your child’s classroom to see if your child will be moving on! Summer event forms will be going out this month as well! If you would like your child to participate, please return form along with payment to your child’s teacher.
Infants–
This month we will be focusing on increasing the skills related to adjusting to changes in demands, priorities, and perspectives as new infants will be adjusting to new schedules, staff and manipulating schedules to fit new needs and wants. The babies will also learn and sort objects by common attributes, to identify patterns and predict the next sequence in a pattern. Following new daily routines will teach the expectant repetition of patterns, and make daily schedules at school easy to anticipate.
Family Engagement– It’s time for Daddy and baby selfies! Please print and bring a selfie or email them to our Ipad and we will print them to display in the classroom. The classroom email is sncainfants1@gmail.com
Special Events– We will be working on our Father’s Day gifts!
Crawlers–
This month we will focus on physical health and motor development as the children work on developing large muscle control, strength and coordination. We will also be exploring nature as we enjoy the warm weather!
Family Engagement- This month we will be working on a special Father’s Day project with the help of all our moms!
Special Events- We will be working on a special Father’s Day project. We would like our moms to please see a teacher as soon as possible for details!
6/24- We will be welcoming some new friends and saying good-bye to some of our old friends!

Young Toddlers–
This month we will focus on social and emotional development as the children work on engaging in positive relationships and interactions with their peers. We will also be welcoming new friends to the classroom this month, as some of our old friends transition to older toddlers.
Special Events- This month we will be having a picnic outside on 6/21 to say goodbye to some of our friends! Please pack a cold lunch for your child on this day!
Family Engagement Activity– This month we will be sending home a book bag with our friends to read with their dad, grandfather, uncle, or someone special! Draw a picture with your child about the story and send it back for your child to share with us!

Older Toddlers–
This month we will focus on self help skills gaining more independence in the classroom and getting ready to move to our 3’s preschool classroom. We will also focus on science and explore nature both living and non living.
Special Events– 6/24 is transition week! Some of our friends will be moving on up to the 3’s preschool class! A list will be posted soon in the classroom. Please see Ms. Lauren if you have any questions.
Family Engagement– Spring Scavenger Hunt! We will be sending home a list of things for you to find when you are on a walk or outside in the back yard. Check it off and bring it in to show us what you found!

3’s Preschool–
This month we will be reviewing all we have learned over the past year! We will be talking about our favorite things and celebrating how much we have grown! We are excited to see our friends move on and see the great things they will achieve in 4’s Pre-K! We will also continue to work on our preschool garden outside! We are excited to see it bloom!
Family Engagement – On June 21st, we will be having a farewell celebration for our friends! Please look for a sign-up sheet that we will post on the classroom door! We appreciate your help!

4’s Pre-k–
What a year we have had in Pre-K! This month we will be finishing up our units of study with a space theme! The children will be exploring the characteristics of different planets and comparing and contrasting them. We will also be finishing our portfolios this month. The children will be selecting their favorite work from this past year and we will be displaying it at our graduation ceremony.

Family Engagement Activity– We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our Pre-K graduation! The children have already been working hard on their performance and portfolios and we can’t wait to show you! Please arrive no earlier than 9:00a.m. as we need time to set up and prepare! Thank you!

K-Prep–
We made it! What a year we had too! This month we will be focusing on applying skills we learned all year to continue growing in our education. We will focus on mathematics using number relationships and operations by adding and subtracting using numbers 1-5. We will also focus on literacy and recognizing familiar words in various texts.

Family Engagement– Visit a local library with your child and register for a library card together. Choose a variety of books to read with your child that include fiction and non-fiction. Also choose books that have rhyming words to help reinforce early reading skills.
