Happy New Year and welcome to the month of January!
The school will be closed on Tuesday December 31st and Wednesday January 1st in the celebration of the New Year. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

Infant Room C:
Children explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made, or naturally occurring.
Children demonstrate book awareness and knowledge of basic print conventions: they understand that print carries meaning and spoken words are represented by text.

Crawler Room A and B:
Children show interest in and an understanding of a variety of literary experiences.
Children gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts.
Family Engagement: Bring in a favorite book to share with the class.
Younger Toddler Room A:
Use gestures, body language and/or vocalization to seek out help from a preferred adult.
Use short, telegraphic phrases (of one or two words) to communicate wants, needs, and thoughts.
Family Engagement: Cold hands, warm hearts mitten activity. Parents will paint child’s hand to leave their handprints on a paper heart.

Younger Toddler Room B:
Children attend to. Understand, and respond to increasingly complex language. We will be working on some sign language.
Children notice and discriminate the sounds of spoken language. We will be learning new nursery rhymes for winter.
Family Engagement: Sending home winter hats cut outs to help your child decorate.

Older Toddlers Room:
To match simple geometric forms.
We will work on children successfully following two-step directions.

Three’s Room:
Children explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made, or naturally occurring. We will incorporate hibernation of animals as well.
Children recognize and identify letters and make letter-sound connections.
Family Engagement:
Classroom Special Events: ~ We will be having a classroom breakfast cooked by our friend Skylar’s Dad. Due to conflicting schedules, we needed to reschedule for this month. The new date coming!

Children recognize and identify letters and make letter sounds and connections.
Children develop number recognition and counting skills and learn the relationship between numbers and the quantity they represent.
Family Engagement: Hibernation lessons, introducing the water cycle. Endangered species & habitats.

Pre-K Classroom:
Children explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living non-living, man-made, or naturally occurring. We will talk about some animals that hibernate/migrate.
Children engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children. We will discuss Dr. King’s message of peace and how we promote his lessons today within our classroom.
