Welcome to the month of February.
We would like to wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day spent with loved ones.

Infant Room A and B:
Children will develop large muscle control, strength and coordination. Children will also develop traveling skills.

Infant Room C:
Children will recognize and identify letters and make letter-sound connections. Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts.

Crawler Room A and B:
Children will engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children by participating in various activities together. Children will also learn to identify shapes and their attributes, solve problems using shapes and explore the positions of objects in space.
Family Engagement: Valentine’s exchange- please bring in by 2/14/19
Classroom Special Events: Valentine’s Day party 2/14. Please wear pink, red or purple.

Younger Toddler Room A:
Children will respond appropriately to re-direction by adults unless too caught up in a game or emotion. Children will also demonstrate comfort in familiar routines and activities.
Family Engagement: Decorate a heart and write all the things your child loves. We will hang it up in the classroom.
Classroom Special Events: Valentine’s Day Party Feb 14th.

Younger Toddler Room B:
Children will pick-up very small objects with their index finger and thumb. Children will also enjoy producing music and other sounds with simple instruments (e.g triangles, tambourines etc.)
Family Engagement: On a heart place pictures, drawings or cutouts of people they love. Due Feb 11th.
Classroom Special Events: Valentine’s Day party Feb 14th.
Older Toddlers Room:
Children will demonstrate an understanding of descriptive words. Children will compare and contrast properties of physical objects.
Family Engagement: Please make a Valentine’s card to be hung in the classroom for the Valentine’s day party.

Three’s Room:
Children will gain an awareness of how they relate to their family and community, understand social roles and responsibilities, recognize and respect similarities and differences in people. We will be talking about cultures and where kids are from. Children will learn to use numbers to compare quantities and solve problems. We will be sorting bears and counting by groups of 5.
Family Engagement: Make your favorite Valentine dessert to send to school.
Classroom Special Events: Friendship Party.
Fours Room:
Children will share and take turns through the discussion of friendship and what it means to be a good friend. Children will also demonstrate an awareness of and appreciation for personal characteristics.
Family Engagement: Please decorate a heart with things that your child loves.

Pre-K Classroom:
Children will develop an awareness of themselves as an individual with unique thoughts, feeling and perspectives. We will discuss the difference between just liking something/someone vs loving something/someone. Children will also develop self help skills. The children will help prepare for our Valentine’s Day party by setting up table cloths, napkins, snacks and lunches.
