Welcome to the month of April!
Don’t forget we have week of the young child April 8th-12th. We hope you can join us for Art night on April 11th. Also have a Happy Easter.
We would like to welcome to our Stork’s Nest Family Ms. Corey, Ms. Brittany and Ms. Madison.
We would like to wish these staff members a very Happy Birthday: 4/9 Ms. Justine (infants), 4/16 Ms. Melinda (older toddlers) and 4/28 Ms. Melissa O (infants).
Infant Room A and B:
Children will explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring. Children will also develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and constantly present in children’s live.
Family Engagement: Ask families to bring in favorite book to share with the class.
Classroom Special Events: Friday April 19th we will be having P.J day.

Infant Room C:
Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts. Children will learn to order and sort objects by common attributes to identify patterns and to predict the next sequence in a pattern.
Family Engagement: Decorate an egg.
Classroom Special Events: Spring art work

Crawler Room A and B:
Children will show interest in and an understanding of a variety of literacy experiences by participating in story time and handling board books. Children will also engage in structured and unstructured physical activity by taking part in planned activities and free play.
Family Engagement: Please bring in a favorite book to share with the class.
Classroom Special Events: Spring party April 19th
Younger Toddler Room A:
Children will use tissue when offered by an adult to wipe nose, face or hands. Children will also match simple shapes.
Family Engagement: Have parents decorate a flower to hang within the classroom.
Classroom Special Events: Spring fling party April 19th.
Student/Staff Birthdays: 4/30 Olive
Younger Toddler Room B:
Children will predominately use parallel play (next to others) while trying at associative play (sharing toys or commenting on the play). Children will also imitate the sounds of animals and people pointed to in books (making the sound of a squawking duck or crying baby).
Family Engagement: Family art night April 11th from 5-6.
Classroom Special Events: April 19th Spring Fling Party
Student/Staff Birthdays: 4/27 Paige
Older Toddlers Room:
Children would be able to identify familiar melodies and rhythms in music, in a way that early readers listen for sound-alike words and patterns. Children will also be able to comply with simple two-part requests that involve waiting.
Family Engagement: Dye Easter eggs with family.
Classroom Special Events: Easter egg hunt 4/19/19
Student/Staff Birthdays: 4/16 Miss Melinda, 4/26 Isabel
Three’s Room:
Children will be talking to the children about how we can stay safe during outside play. Children will communicate about personal history. The children will engage in conversation of what they remember when they are younger.
Family Engagement: Book bag reading with your child.
Classroom Special Events: Easter Egg hunt April 19th.
Fours Room:
Children will demonstrate an understanding that tools can be used to gather information and investigate materials. Children will also focus on increasingly complex topics for longer periods of time.
Family Engagement: Decorate an egg

Pre-K Classroom:
Children become increasingly able to identify unsafe situations and gradually learn strategies for responding to them. Children will learn about how to stay safe in a variety of situations. Children will also attend to, understand and respond to increasingly complex language.
